The marble slab was shown to the head of the Department of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Chalkida, who said that it is a processed marble stone (measuring 50 x 22 cm), bearing an ancient Greek inscription and a decoration of Acanthous, of the Hellenistic or early Roman era.
Archaeologists who examined the finding characterized it as extremely important, and noted that rendering of the text could provide important information about life in ancient Greece.
